WILLEMSTAD:---- The legal website Dutch Caribbean Legal Portal has published its quality ranking for criminal lawyers. In alfabetical order Marie José Eisden (SMS Attorneys at Law), Mirto Murray (SMS Attorneys at Law), Eldon Sulvaran (Sulvaran & Peterson) and Marije Vaders (Vaders Advocaten) were ranked by their peers as best criminal lawyers for Curaçao.
In the category Rising Stars Mireille Leeflang (Bokkes Advocaten), Sjamira Roseburg (Sulvaran & Peterson) and Roald Tromp (Scheperboer & Parris) have been ranked as young upcoming talent.
Other lawyers ranked as criminal law experts by their peers are Alicia Blonk (Bokkes Advocaten), Paula Janssen (Sulvaran & Peterson), Maribel Gomes (David Kock Legal) and Everett Wilsoe (Wilsoe Advocaten). They did not make it into the final Top Legal Individuals.
The publication of the Top Legal Individuals Criminal Law is the second one in a range of quality rankings by Dutch Caribbean Legal Portal. In the first edition of June 2015 Lisanne Asjes, Molly Steward and William ten Veen (in alfabetical order) were ranked as best labor law specialists.
Later this year a quality ranking for Litigation (including Procedural Law) will be published. After that other areas of law will follow, like Family Law and Corporate Law.
For now only specialized lawyers active in Curaçao will be taking part in the ranking. In the future this might be expanded to other jurisdictions.
The annual rankings of law firms in the Dutch Caribbean and Suriname, based on the number of lawyers employed, the DCLP Top 25 Law Firms, will remain to be published next to the new quality rankings.
