The Secret Is Out: Sint Maarten Revealed as Wingo’s Destino Oculto 3.

wingo22102026Simpson Bay:--- The secret is finally out! Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA) is proud to welcome Wingo's Destino Oculto 3, revealing Sint Maarten as the surprise Caribbean destination for approximately 350 travelers arriving from Colombia. The arrival marks the culmination of months of preparation and close collaboration between PJIA, the St. Maarten Tourism Bureau, and Office du Tourisme Saint Martin, working together to bring this unique travel experience to the island and further strengthen its visibility within the South American market.

Organized by Colombian airline Wingo, Destino Oculto is a travel concept that invites passengers to book an international getaway without knowing their destination in advance. Now in its third edition, the initiative brings travelers from Bogotá and Medellín to Sint Maarten for a four-day, three-night experience from October 22 to 25, 2026. Under the theme “One Destination, Two Paradises,” this year's experience highlights what makes Sint Maarten unique: one Caribbean island, two distinct cultures and an extraordinary variety of experiences waiting to be discovered.

For PJIA, the project marks an important milestone in ongoing efforts to strengthen airline partnerships, expand destination awareness, and attract new visitors from emerging tourism markets. Suzy Kartokromo, Aeronautical Business Manager at PJIAE, expressed her pride in seeing the project come to life.

"We have been working closely with our tourism partners on both sides of the island for several months to make this project a reality. It has been an exciting journey, particularly knowing that we were preparing to welcome hundreds of travelers who had no idea where they were going. Seeing the aircraft arrive and revealing that Sint Maarten is the hidden destination is an incredibly proud moment for everyone involved. This collaboration demonstrates what we can accomplish when aviation and tourism work together toward a shared goal."

PJIA Chief Executive Officer Michael Cleaver emphasized the importance of the initiative in supporting the airport's broader aeronautical development objectives.

"We are extremely proud to welcome Wingo and its passengers to Sint Maarten as part of Destino Oculto 3. As we continue to expand our presence in the South American market, initiatives like this offer an excellent opportunity to introduce new travelers to everything our destination has to offer. Sint Maarten is uniquely positioned to offer visitors twice the Caribbean experience, bringing together the charm, culture, and hospitality of both sides of our island. We are confident that this experience will leave a lasting impression on our visitors, showcasing the unique appeal of Sint Maarten and encouraging them to return and explore even more of what our island has to offer.”

Beyond the excitement surrounding the destination reveal, the initiative highlights the value of collaboration between the airport, tourism authorities, and airline partners. By combining aviation connectivity with destination marketing, projects such as Destino Oculto 3 help introduce Sint Maarten to new audiences and support the island's long-term tourism development.

As the island's gateway, PJIA remains committed to supporting opportunities that strengthen regional and international connections while showcasing Sint Maarten as a welcoming, distinctive Caribbean destination.

One island. Two nations. Two paradises. Welcome to Sint Maarten!
