Relatives dispute account of McDonald’s brawl as questions emerge over teen’s reported release conditions.

mcdonaldbrawl12102026SIMPSON BAY:--- Relatives and bystanders have offered a different account of the confrontation at McDonald’s in Simpson Bay on Sunday evening, alleging that an employee flung extra sauce toward customers before the dispute escalated into a physical fight.

Police confirmed they arrested one man and two women following the October 11 incident. Sources have identified the two women to SMN News as sisters Andeline and Alania Reenis and described the third person arrested as the 16-year-old son of one of the women. KPSM has not publicly confirmed those identities.

SMN News is withholding the teenager’s name because he is a minor.

Family Alleges Sauce Request Triggered Dispute

According to relatives and bystanders who spoke to SMN News, the sisters returned from the beach with their mother and children when they stopped at McDonald’s to make a purchase.

They alleged that an employee flinging extra sauce at them in response to a request for extra sauce prompted an angry reaction and a confrontation.

That account has not been independently verified. This report did not receive a response from the restaurant or the employee involved.

The allegation provides the family’s explanation of how the disagreement began. Police have not announced who initiated the physical confrontation or each participant’s responsibility.

Police Confirm Three Arrests

KPSM said Central Dispatch received multiple reports of a fight at approximately 7:20 p.m. Patrol units were immediately dispatched, but the altercation had ended before officers arrived.

Preliminary police inquiries indicated that a verbal disagreement between a customer and an employee escalated into a physical confrontation. Videos of the incident subsequently circulated on social media.

Officers identified three allegedly involved individuals, arrested them, and transported them to Police Headquarters in Philipsburg for questioning and processing.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, and potential charges will depend on the findings and each individual’s actions.

Sources say the teen had recently been released under conditions

Sources also told SMN News that the teenager arrested on Sunday had previously been detained in connection with a separate incident they described as a gang fight.

According to those sources, he spent approximately one week at the Miss Lalie Center before being released under conditions.

SMN News has independently confirmed the earlier detention, the circumstances of his release, or the conditions reportedly imposed. Consequently, there is no established basis to conclude that Sunday’s incident breached any release condition.

The account nevertheless raises questions for the relevant authorities about whether the teenager was supervised and how any existing conditions relate to the new investigation.

Competing Accounts Require Investigation

The family’s allegations and the preliminary police account leave important details unresolved, including what happened during the sauce request, how the confrontation became physical and what each person did.

Investigators still need to establish those questions through witness statements, available recordings and other evidence.

KPSM has urged the public to exercise restraint, avoid confrontational behavior and seek assistance when disagreements arise, warning that disputes can quickly lead to violence, arrests and serious legal consequences.
