PHILIPSBURG: The KPSM recently partnered with the White and Yellow Cross to provide officers with specialized training on how to appropriately approach, respond to, and refer persons living with Alzheimer’s disease.
Experienced professional nurses from the White and Yellow Cross conducted the training, providing officers with practical knowledge and guidance to better understand the challenges faced by people living with Alzheimer’s and how to respond safely, respectfully, and effectively when assistance is needed.
The Chief of Police, Mr. Carl John, thanked the White and Yellow Cross for partnering with KPSM and for providing this valuable training. He emphasized that the knowledge gained will better prepare officers to assist Alzheimer’s patients and their families whenever and wherever they may require support.
