Soul Beach Music Festival 2025 Promises Economic Boost and Unforgettable Entertainment in St. Maarten.

grisha07052024PHILIPSBURG:--- Excitement is building as officials announce that the Soul Beach Music Festival 2025 will be hosted in St. Maarten from May 21st to 26th. Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Traffic and Telecommunication (TEATT) Grisha Heyliger-Marten has highlighted the festival's immense potential to invigorate the island’s economy and enhance its global appeal.

The festival, which lands perfectly within a dip in the island’s tourism calendar, is a welcome opportunity to extend the high season and maintain strong economic activity into the summer months. “This is not just about hotel stays. Soul Beach has a ripple effect across our entire economy,” Minister Heyliger-Marten emphasized, citing the benefits for local businesses such as hotels, restaurants, bars, taxis, stylists, vendors, and performers.

Expected to draw over 3,000 international visitors, many high-spending tourists, the festival is already making waves in the hospitality sector. “While average hotel occupancy around this time of year is typically 55–60%, most top hotels report occupancy rates between 85% and 100% during the festival week. That’s a clear sign of the festival’s drawing power,” Heyliger-Marten noted.

Spotlight on Local Talent

An integral part of the Soul Beach experience is the spotlight on local artists who will share the stage with international acts. This Thursday, the Daily Herald’s “Out & About” section will feature eight homegrown performers who are set to bring their unique flair to the festival. The lineup includes names like Tamillia, Gee Money, DJ Outkast, King James, King Vers, Yemaya, and DJ Blaze.

Minister Heyliger-Marten encouraged the community to support these performers, noting their vital role in internationally showcasing St. Maarten’s cultural richness.

Tickets and Accessibility

Affordable ticket options have been rolled out to ensure the local community can join in the festivities. Tickets for locals are priced at $70 for advance purchases, with gate tickets costing $100 for both concerts. Additionally, Fun Miles can be used to secure tickets at select gas stations, but availability is limited.

Tickets are available at the following locations:

  • Sol Gas Stations (Causeway / Cole Bay, Madame Estate, Simpson Bay, Sucker Garden)
  • Levi’s in Marigot
  • Tech Hub at Carrefour
  • Van Dorp in Madame Estate

With these accessible pricing options, the government seeks to encourage island-wide participation and ensure that residents can enjoy the festivities alongside international visitors.

Event Highlights

Festivalgoers can expect an exciting week of events highlighting St. Maarten’s vibrant culture and cross-border appeal. Some key highlights include:

  • Kick-off Party – Wednesday night at Casino Royale
  • Day Parties – Hosted at Mullet Bay and Orient Bay throughout the week
  • Comedy Night – Featuring Cedric the Entertainer on Friday
  • Main Concert – With headline performances by Charlie Wilson and Muni Long on Saturday night at Festival Village
  • Sunday “Sip, Dip & Drip” – A unique shopping and beach fusion experience on the Philipsburg Boardwalk
  • Closing “Cool Down” – Memorial Day celebrations on Monday

The events will take place on both the French and Dutch sides of the island, amplifying cross-border collaboration and tourism appeal.

A Showcase of St. Maarten’s Charm

Minister Heyliger-Marten expressed optimism about the festival’s potential to enhance St. Maarten’s global profile. “Throughout the week, the eyes of the world—especially media outlets across the US—will be focused on our beautiful island. This is our moment to shine,” she said.

She urged residents to embody St. Maarten’s famous spirit of hospitality, calling on everyone to be gracious hosts, proud ambassadors of local culture, and united as a community. “Every dollar the government invests in events like this comes back many times over—in economic activity, global visibility, and long-term brand value. This is our chance to show the world who we are.”

Final Thoughts

The Soul Beach Music Festival 2025 promises to be more than a musical extravaganza. It’s an opportunity to uplift local talent, boost economic activity, and strengthen the island’s reputation as a premier destination. With international performers, local stars, and unforgettable experiences lined up, St. Maarten is ready to welcome visitors and make this festival an event to remember.
