BONAIRE:--- Through Dutch Postcode Lottery’s (NPL) game “Kraak de koffer” (English: Unlock the suitcase), actor Everon Jackson Hooi from Curaçao donated 10.000 euros to the Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance (DCNA). DCNA will use this money for projects to safeguard nature in the Dutch Caribbean by assisting the Protected Area Management Organizations in Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, St Eustatius, and St Maarten.
DCNA is very thankful for this donation. Nature on the Dutch Caribbean islands, which includes its coral reefs, mangroves, and elfin forest, is unique and important but also fragile and under threat. The money will be used to support activities to strengthen the institutional capacity and financial position of the Protected Area Management Organizations, youth nature education, and promoting awareness of actions needed to address global conservation challenges (such as climate change) in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.

DCNA has more than a decade-long history with the Dutch Postcode Lottery and their charitable acts or “Goede Doelen“. Since 2008, DCNA became a full beneficiary of the Dutch Postcode Lottery and has received an annual subsidy.
