The image of St. Martin, seen as a paradise where it is easy to be entertained, go shopping and enjoy wonderful traditional dishes, was enhanced. When it comes to shopping, the Guadeloupians noted, however, that the prices charged on the whole of the island are not as attractive as before... and passed the message. Grégoire Dumel, head of the local and regional market, also noted that “on the show, there was a less important flow of visitors this year compared to last year”. The representative of the Office of tourism noted that “this is related to the date selected, in December; We have talked with the organizers so that this show can be held in November”, which was already the case during the first editions. The event is even more important since cruising heavily impacts the renowned destinations in the Caribbean that are St. Maarten, the Dominican Republic and Martinique. Because of this, the Office of Tourism will continue its efforts in this key sector of the tourism economy.
