PHILIPSBURG:--- Carrefour Markets Sint Maarten and Celebrity Cruises have continued their COVID-19 Vaccination Registration and Appointment Drive along with a special 20% discount offer for the third Saturday, May 29nd at Carrefour Market on Bush Road. The final opportunity to take part in this special program will be on Saturday, June 5th at the Carrefour Market Bush Road location
A team of more than 10 volunteers spoke with more than 285 people this past Saturday about getting their COVID-19 vaccination. The team included medical experts from Celebrity Cruises and local experts in the registration process on Dutch Sint Maarten. Jeffrey "Dr. Soc" Sochrin of Island 92 radio said, "We continue to have deep conversations with residents who are slowly becoming more receptive to receiving their COVID-19 vaccination. I remain thankful to all the volunteers that have worked with us each of the past three Saturdays at Carrefour Market. Since this initiative began we have spoken with more than 1,000 residents and have made just about 100 appointments. We have one more Saturday to go, June 5th, when residents can take advantage of registering for the COVID-19 vaccination, getting an appointment, and receiving a 20% discount at Carrefour Market after receiving their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Please don't miss this opportunity to get vaccinated and save at Carrefour Market".
Dr. Soc continued, "I would like to recognize Mr. Steve Duzanson of the Vaccination Management Team (VMT). Steve has spent time with the volunteers each Saturday during this campaign. Mr. Duzanson went above and beyond this Saturday when a gentleman had inquired about the Pop Up Vaccination Event that was going on. When Mr. Duzanson then saw this person walking from Carrefour Market towards the Pop Up, he jumped in his car, caught up to the gentleman, and delivered him directly to the Pop-Up location, where the gentleman was vaccinated. True teamwork if you ask me". When asked about this particular case, Mr. Duzanson simply said, "Only with teamwork can we achieve our goal, the 'Drive to 85%'. We will get there and we will do it together".
