CBCS re-applies working-from-home in light of coronavirus prevention.

WILLEMSTAD/PHILIPSBURG:---  In view of the increase in positive COVID-19 cases in Curaçao, the Centrale Bank van Curacao en Sint Maarten (CBCS) decided as a precaution that those employees who do not occupy location-bound positions should work from home during the next two weeks, as of Wednesday, November 25. All internal and external meetings will be held virtually.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CBCS staff members have been partially working from home for some time now. This precautionary measure does in no way affect the continuation of the critical tasks and functions of the CBCS. As far as known, there are no confirmed COVID-19 cases amongst our staff.
The Cash Department of the CBCS office in Curaçao will be closed until further notice. This implies that it will not be possible to buy nor exchange coins and/or banknotes. As per usual, the daily exchange rates will be available on the CBCS website.
CBCS emphasizes that only with the joint effort we will be able to limit the spreading of the coronavirus. We count on your understanding and continuing support.
