CONCERNED CITIZENS STOP CONSTRUCTION.
Concerned citizens initiated a petition to halt the construction process, where 4000 signatures have now been placed.
Yesterday, Minister Leito expressed that the construction had been halted, because no building permit had been applied for neither issued for the construction of a wheelchair ramp.

According to the minister, her statements about the refurbished parking lot at the beach were confused with those about the construction of the new slope after she apparently made different and contrasting statements in the media and in a video by her own ministry.
MINISTER LEITO PUTS WORKERS ON SUSPENSION UNTIL COMPLETION OF INVESTIGATION
Minister Zita Jesus Leito announced that her ministry placed two (2) government workers; involved in the project; on “temporal inactivity”, aka suspension until an investigation into the matter has been completed.
According to the Minister, the two public workers approached The Curacao Tourism Board (CTB); regarding the project without the knowledge of the Ministry, this statement apparently made CTB appear to look bad and unprofessional because it was not the first time, CTB worked with the Government towards a project.
The two (2) public workers were:
1. Mr. Melvin “Mac” Cijntje (former parliamentarian for 2016 and 2017 opposition political party Pueblo Soberano PS, who is now affiliated with opposition party Movementu Progresivo, MP)
2. Mr. Frensel Mercilia.
NOTHING HAPPENS TO 5 SUPERVISORS OF MELVIN MAC CIJNTJE & MERCILIA
There are five other public workers with a higher ranking above the two workers who were sent home for investigations, but the five (5) other workers remained working and the minister is not being held responsible. The Ministry of Economy (MEO) which is under Minister Steven Martina, also has part of the project but there is no one responsible yet.

In an interview with Curacao Parliamentarian for the coalition: Mr. Eugene Cleopa (political party MAN): "a lot of things went wrong with the project of Bandabou".
Eugene Cleopa; also expressed, "we have gotten where I am against you, you are against me!"
He also stated that: "the investigation should not have people from VVRP." "People from VVRP cannot be in it!"
Apparently, it is because "everything became like either I am pro for you or against you" as well as "because in my opinion, for example, I; as minister; must be protected by my ministry."
According to Cleopa: "I work as a politician and also as a public worker. I believe that the best thing at this moment is that I for sure will stand and wait for the investigation trajectory. Because for me that is what is important."
Cleopa stated the following:
"I can't condemn nobody, I cannot condemn no worker, I cannot condemn no contractor because I am not into condemned minister, nor do I condemn no body."

In an interview with 2017-2021 Curacao Parliamentarian; of the 8th Session; for the opposition: Mr. Gilmar Pik Pisas from the political party; Movementu Futuro Korsou ;MFK, he expressed that the principal failure was because Leito said she didn't know about the project to a Dutch reporter, when; she gave a prop to the project to a local reporter". According to Pisas Minister Zita is "failing with integrity rules".

After Rojer's expression, it showed the possibility that he and his party would support the vote of No Confidence motion against Minister Zita Leito.
