PHILIPSBURG:--- On February 22nd the NPOwer project of the 4C Foundation hosted the first NPO (non for profit organization) workshop conference, “It Takes (more than) Two to Tango”. Well, resulting from that successful event where over 75 NPOs were in attendance, participants voiced their need of wanting more professional development opportunities. According to NPOwer Coordinator, Cassandra Richardson, “the people spoke, and NPOwer listened.”
On Saturday, June 27th, Laura Hartman, a close affiliate of NPOwer, will be conducting a workshop on grant/proposal writing. Ms. Hartman, a St. Maarten resident and originally from the US, has a wealth of experience in project writing. She is also the Executive Director of “The School of Choice” in Haiti, a school providing an exceptional education for Haitian children.
This grant writing workshop will take place over three days; June 27th, June 28th, and July 4th. According to the founder and director of Foresee Jose Sommers, “Hartman is an engaging teacher and facilitator. You will not be bored one inch, and you’ll walk out of the workshop more knowledgeable and equipped to find funding for your foundation”. Keep an eye out on social media (the NPOwer and the SXM Community Service Facebook pages) and visit our website https://www.npowersxm.com/ for details about the workshop and how you can register.
NPOwer has another workshop planned in August. This one will deal with good governance. Details concerning this workshop will be made available soon.
NPOwer is a project of the Foresee (4C) Foundation and mandated to support capacity building and connect the St. Maarten NPO community.
