PHILIPSBURG:--- Detectives are presently investigating a shooting incident involving two or more Venezuelan men and a scooter rider. This incident took place on Sunday, May 26th on Sint Peters road. According to reports these men and the scooter rider may have been involved in an altercation a short time back. Today when they saw the scooter rider they started throwing empty bottles at him. The scooter rider ran into a yard while being chased by these men. At one point according to witnesses, they heard at least two shots fired causing persons in the area to take cover and the Venezuelans to flee the area. The police patrols arriving on the scene immediately cordoned off the area for the Forensic Department to collect evidence. It is still unclear what the cause of the incident is but detectives continue to investigate what exactly took place and why.
