PHILIPSBURG:--- Several staff members of USZV are calling on the members of the Supervisory Board of Directors to do the honorable thing and resign since they are fully incompetent and are useless.
The staffers that spoke to SMN News said that there is no leadership at USZV and the Supervisory Board of Directors are supposed to oversee the management of the company while ensuring that the funds managed by USZV are protected.
“We know that the board members are politically affiliated, some are confidants to the Minister of VSA Emil Lee some to the Chairlady of Parliament Sarah Wescot Williams. “The supervisory board members are all DP appointed members and their core interest is to ensure that Lee and Wescot Williams through her son Andy Wescot get their hospital project. As a staff, we do not trust the supervisory board members because of their affiliation with politicians.”
The staff members said that the Minister of Health increased the tariffs illegally and to date no one from the Supervisory Board questions it. Some staff members that are close to management are using the referral to go on their vacations.
“SZV patients are the ones suffering as the management team refuses to send patients to the French side since Dr. Louis Jeffry was arrested and is under investigation with the OBSXM operations between SZV and Louis Constant Fleming Hospital. Patients that need a consultation with specialists on the French side are forced to go to Colombia for three weeks. This is costing SZV money and certainly providing the incentives (kickback) for those persons in management that are behind the scheme.”
“We believe that Members of Parliament must send home the Minister of VSA Emil Lee at all cost as well as the management of USZV, they need to have an investigation conducted into this entity, there is corruption under everyone nose and no one is doing anything to protect the ZV, AOV, FZOG funds.” “Four years ago, we had some hope in Inspectorate of Health when they announced that an audit was going to be done on the referral department. That planned audit was agreed upon by the Minister of Health Emil Lee, Director Glen Carty, and Inspector General Dr. Earl Best.” The staff members further stated that somehow that agreement disappeared because Emil Lee puts pressure on everyone especially when he knows that there are skeletons that will expose him and Director Glen Carty.
The Chairlady of the Supervisory Board of Directors Sharine Daniel has also turned a blind eye on what is taking place at SZV since her focus is getting the Director’s position that she was promised while being a campaign manager for Sarah Wescot Williams. It is said that that the SZV will create a position that is not even legal to get Daniel to be part of the management team.
“Since Emil Lee blocked Daniel by extending Carty’s contract, they have decided to create an adjunct director position which does not exist in SZV’s structure. “We believe that since Daniel wants this position so badly she has turned a blind eye on her supervisory role, thus we believe they should all do the honorable thing and resign.”
The staff members said that they have been hearing that Daniel the head of the internal audit department of GEBE has been assisting the Supervisory Board of GEBE behind the scenes, while she is also vying for the CEO position at that company when the current management team term ends in October 2019. Clearly, Daniel who it is believed is competent is looking to upgrade her position while neglecting the current responsibilities she already has both at GEBE and at USZV.
