EXCLUSIVE: Denise Jacobs new interim head of Landsrecherche St. Maarten.

denisejacob06022012PHILIPSBURG:---Commissioner of Police Denise Jacobs has taken over the leadership of the Landsrecherche St. Maarten as of Monday this week, one day after Chief Commissioner of Police Carl John left the island. SMN News learned that Jacobs did not inform her colleagues that she would be leaving KPSM to take on the new position but instead abandon ship in the absence of the Chief of Police.
According to information SMN News received is that Jacobs has not been getting along with her boss and her colleagues while she was heading the Detective Department of KPSM.
In an invited comment Minister of Justice Cornelius de Weever said that Jacobs appointment has not been completed. De Weever said that Jacobs will be appointed as the interim head of the Landsrecherche. De Weever said that paper work for Jacobs has not yet been completed. Asked why she took on the new post while the country’s Chief of Police is off-island de Weever said that Jacobs is allowed to visit her new job and seek out information. He also said that Jacobs did not take up her position fully since procedures have to be followed.
SMN News learned that Delano Baptist head of the CID is currently heading KPSM in the absence of the of Chief Commissioner of Police Carl John.
