PHILIPSBURG:--- When Jade Lopez traveled to India in search of new inspiration, she had no idea it would lead her to a new foundation and goal in life: helping families in dire situations.
In India for many; starvation, violence and struggle are a daily fact of life. Poverty in India is still pervasive; especially in rural areas where 70% of India’s 1.2 billion population live. It is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and yet its wealth is hardly redistributed across the population. This means that a huge number of families live in slums, with no prospects of increasing their life quality or those of their kids.
To change this Lopez has started a foundation called “I Heart All Human Kind” that aims to create financial and productive opportunities for some families, giving them the chance to improve their lives.
The money being raised through “I Heart All Human Kind” Foundation will be going towards are:
- Paying the tuition fee for an English speaking school for 9 children.
- Supplying their mothers with the equipment they need to start their own handicraft business.
- Raising enough to enable, Muskan, one of the girls whom was born deaf, an ear operation, allowing her to speak and hear for the first time in her life.
Any money raised above what is required for these families will go directly into helping another family here in the same position; there is no shortage of those.
Through a newly launched website: www.jjlovecollection.com people can learn more about the campaign and buy antique Rajasthani handmade home decor items from which 50% of the sales will be going straight towards the charity.
