Petrus Leroy De Weever acquitted for stealing tablet --- Common Court of Justice overturn decision of Court of First Instance.

PHILIPSBURG:--- The Common Court of Justice in its Wednesday, September 16, 2016, verdict annulled the verdict of the Court of First Instance of St. Maarten of November 4, 2015, against P.L. de W. He was sentenced to a fine of Naf. 750,= for stealing blogger J.R.’s tablet during an altercation on Front Street on January 11, 2014. The Joint Court of Justice, however, did not find it legally and convincingly proven that P.L. de W. had stolen the tablet and acquitted him of all charges.
