PHILIPSBURG:--- The Supervisory Board of Directors of GEBE suspended the company’s Chief Financial Officer Rene Gartner on Tuesday morning. SMN News learnt that Gartner was given his letter early Tuesday morning where he was informed officially that he has been suspended by the supervisory board for several discrepancies. According to information provided to SMN News the supervisory board of GEBE will execute their powers by using article 8:11 in GEBE’s articles of incorporation to appoint William Brooks in a temporary position to handle management, pending the appointments by the shareholder for the CEO and COO positions.
The Supervisory board of GEBE have been in loggerheads with Rene Gartner for quite some months now when they found out that Gartner was paying two persons in the United States some $9,800 weekly to install the SAP payroll program, at first Gartner hired Oxford then he changed from Oxford and hired Spectrum for the SAP payroll system. Besides that Gartner abused the use of his credit cards when he purchased airline tickets for his private business. The supervisory board demanded Gartner to provide the board with information on the abuse of the bonds he used at Chippie’s Café and King’s Mart all of which the company had to pay while Gartner has meals and other allowances. The Supervisory board even gave Gartner the opportunity to repay the monies he spent on himself but Gartner never complied. The only payment he made was the $15,000.00 extra he paid for the vehicle to avoid prosecution. SMN News further learnt that Gartner wanted the finance department of GEBE to cover up for him when he was caught paying the Americans so much money for an unreliable payroll program. The source said that Gartner sent emails and even tried to use his power to pressure the employees to say that the SAP program was budgeted for in the 2015 budget but the employees refused to commit any crime to protect Gartner. SMN News also learnt that some eight managers gave statements that showed the alleged wrong doings of Gartner while he served as the company’s CFO.
Besides all of the above Gartner purchased a vehicle without the consent of the supervisory board in excess of what he is allowed to spend on the purchase of a vehicle. Apart from that when SMN News posted some proof showing the illegal spending of Rene Gartner he chose to illegally suspend the company’s internal auditor whom he had to reinstate a few days later. Efforts made to reach the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of GEBE Rene Richardson on Tuesday morning for a comment proved futile as Richardson could not be reached by telephone.
