Pond Island:---TelEm Group kicked off its Back-to-School annual promotion Tuesday with a donation to a Fun/Sports day for kids taking place at the Melford Hazel, sports complex, Sucker Garden, this Friday.
The Fun/Sports Day is the initiative of the “Your Voice Your Choice Foundation” and aims to provide kids in foster homes with a great day out, filled with fun activities.
Volunteer, Nichelle van der Mark, accepted a cash donation from TelEm Group, Manager Marketing & Sales, Mr. Emile van der Weerd, towards the activities, which will include jumping the bag, lime and spoon races, an obstacle course and a host of novelty games.
“We are expecting to cater for more than 100 children on the day from 9:00 am in the morning until 2:00 pm in the afternoon,” said Nichelle, daughter of the foundation’s founder, Ms. Silveria Jacobs.
She said the donation also assist in the filling of school bags with much needed supplies for the foster kids and also for some under-privileged children who will also be participating in the Fun/Sports Day event.
Mr. van der Weerd said this year’s back-to-school promotion from mobile provider TelCell, begin appearing in the daily newspapers this week.
“We are offering some great deals on the purchase of data packages for smartphone users,” said the Manager marketing and sales.
He said TelCell will also be announcing the chance to win one of 25 super back-to-school packages courtesy of TelCell during the mobile provider’s back-to-school promotion.
