PHILIPSBURG:--- The Board and Members of the Democratic Party of St. Maarten congratulated 2014 Calypso Monarch Young Calix for being crowned the 2014 Calypso King. Young Calix, also known as Ruminni Rogers, won the title having performed his two favorites "Don't judge me," and the very popular "Still ain't ready yet,".
"Congratulations are in order for Young Calix for being one of the youngest calypso kings of St. Maarten. It shows that when you are focused and have determination no obstacles can deter you. Because you persevered you are now St. Maarten's 2014 Calypso King. Be encouraged to use this reign to groom other young people in the area of calypso as part of our culture and for sending the message that age is just a number and that with guidance your dreams too can come true," read a Democratic Party Statement.
