Police confiscates illegal scooters and motorbikes.

confiscatedmotorbikesandscooters02052014PHILIPSBURG:--- On Thursday May 1st, 2014 at approximately 7:30pm after the second day Parade arrived at the Festival Village, a massive police traffic control was conducted on the outside of the village. During this control a total of 18 scooters and motorcycles were confiscated due to the fact that the riders were not in possession of legal documents such as, insurance, proof of payment of road tax, inspection card, riding without a helmet and primarily riding without a license. This control was planned due to the irresponsible way of riding practiced by these scooter riders such as, riding at very high speed between cars and persons crossing the streets and doing stunts with their scooter or motorcycle putting other drivers in danger. The riders also behave irresponsible while riding in a large group.
In addition to this control, the Police Department is informing the owners of the scooters or motorcycles that they should present the legal documents for the scooter or motorcycle as soon as possible. If they do not do so this vehicle will be sent to be completely disposed of.
