That poster was real ugly anyway. It is just the sentiment of some voters. Marlin and his posse really seeing us out. And they have done nothing for us. That can make a person real mad. Empty promises, and then they point the finger at other parties. However who ever did this went about his or her frustration the wrong way.

While I in no way condone vandalism I can understand the frustration of some people who have no jobs, no money to meet their basic needs and probably live in poverty to see this billboard being erected, wasting money that could have been put to better use.

People are starting to wake up and this is a rude awakening for Mr. Marlin. Why was money wasted on such a billboard? Is this the trend that our leader of Government is going to use to brainwash us and remind us who is in charge? Showing us who rules this Island?

Mr. Marlin should have been a lot more sensitive to the needs of the people. Just drive into St. Peters and you will understand what I am talking about.

While I agree that the DP Government also forgot us, NA promised to do better. During the past year St. Peters has become a real slum. And indeed, what has the NA government done for St. Peters over the past year .... Nothing, zip, nada, niets, njets.

Please take down that board, it is an insult to us in this district. You don't own us. Please get a life. Give all of the material you used to someone who can put it to better use.

Maybe this was done to gain people votes, maybe a NA voter did so people can get upset and vote for him. I know the political tricks. Well good for us the more vote we will get for Wiliam Marlin.

When we encourage this type of behaviour, it is we who will also pay the consequences of it. If UP, DP think that they can rejoice because it was not their billboad, by not condoning this evil action, you are telling our young people to get physical when they are upset, you are telling our children to destroy other people stuff once it is not ours, it is telling the world that at the end of the day, none of you so called political leaders are fit to lead this nation, because it seems like you want to get in that position at any cost, and even at the expense of another person's destruction.
You are creating an environment where tourism will not be able to strive.
Think about it and let us see which one of you will have the courage to step up and pubicly condone the destruction of people's property.

Nobody in my opinion should gain votes because of a vandalized billboard. People who vote for a political party or person because of vandalized billboards are idiots. If that were the case the DP should have won the last election, because they have been the victim of this kind of behavior in previous elections. People usually destroy political billboards because they feel frustrated. And I agree with ridiculous. I was thinking the same think when I past that billboard and the one by the today newspaper. It is a waste of money when there are so many people that can put the material to good use. It does Marlin more bad then good I think by erecting these billboards all over the place.

First of all, vandalism is punishable by law. So, if and when you are caught, you will appear before the judge and spend some time behind bars as well as feel it in your pocket.

Secondly, to those of you who say "I don't condone it, but I can understand because money was spent on it and the person maybe has no job and was upset", I hope when they destroy your house, car or anything else of yours, I hope you will understand in the same way. This kind of foolish reasoning is why our youth behave in the destructive way they do because they watch and listen to what the adults say. Immature adults I might add.

@ ? If Marlin or anybody else for that matter wants to spend money on wood and a poster, what business is that of yours? You are NOT the one paying for it! Would you like it if somebody hates on you because of what you do with your money? Grow up and stop being so small minded.

@ 'going UP the road': Theo was in government with the NA, so if you blaming one, then blame the other as well. One can't be good and the other one bad. Also, tell TO go give back the taxpayers their money because he is collecting and not working for it when he as a millionaire can afford to do without a government's salary in the first place. Is this integrity, dear Gracita? The only one making empty promises here is TO with his '100 days' bull. Maybe not you, but we are wiser than that and can't be fooled by him!

OMG---- SO TRUE. Is TO still collecting his salary for working on behalf of the people while he supposedly resigned to take care of his campaign? He should give back the tax payers their money-no work, no pay.
Thank goodness previous poster mentioned this..we SXM people did not say anything about this issue

@ psn & well 3x.

Where do you live? We, on SXM, have been suffering these type of vandalism to our homes, cars and businesses for years now. I ain't seen no one being punished by the Law yet for that.

We cannot buy anything of luxury anymore with our "hard earned money" because our belongings are vandalized. Our homes are broken into and our businesses are robbed.

What does William Marlin do about it? Yep, waste money on a stupid billboard instead of giving the needy plywood and 2 x 4 to fix their roofs.

Had he put more interest in the crime situation, labor affairs and educational system, there would have been no one to vandalize his stupid poster.

What goes around, comes around. William feeling it with a billboard, I feeling vandalism for years now to my personal property which I had to pay for with my hard earned money.

The 2 of you just made me lose any sympathy I might have had for his ugly billboard being vandalized. I am used to it already, let William feel how it is now. Let him get down off of his high horse and face reality.

Look at the Chinese grocery shop next to Milton Peters, no matter how they paint the building, the school children vandalizes it with obscene grafiti. Did Marlin even try to address that situation? He never minded because it was not his property. But now he want to cry foul over a stupid, ugly @$$ billboard? A billboard that he did not pay one red cent for but rather with campaign money he extorted from "hard working" business people. Oh people, get real here.

Feed the people, get them jobs, don't give them an "insulting" billboard of their arrogant, "hopeful to be" prime minister.

Well 3x I totally agree with you!

Some of these SXM people are so small minded. All the politicians using wood and spending their money on material for their political propaganda, I don't see nothing wrong with that. They need stop waiting for the politicians to give all you back sides a job, you all want easy life huh? Go out there like everybody else and fill in applications present yourself show who you are stop wanting everything to fall in your laps. These are people who never lift a stroke to work, it's not now these people don't have jobs and every election they complain about the same thing all the time, when will they go out there and try on their own. It's a nice feeling when you go out there and find a job on your own to know it's you did it and you don't owe nobody a thing Mr. Marlin has better things to do than to sit and cry over a billboard that was wreck by some sick loony tune.

To well 3x and all those who agree with you. Why do you hate Theo because Marlin and the NA brain wash you all to hate Claude Wathey and his offspring. Some of you just here so I forgive your ignorance. Please tell me what Theo has done to bring out this kind hateful grudge?
To agree with well 3x, from your words you have me to believe that you are a foreigner who came here and are now living the high life. Go and ask Nagico how many sxmners applied for a job and how many he employed. Go to the Govtment, go to the Indian stores on front/back streets. Go to UTS and many more. You people get me sick with your stupid comments. I wish there was a system in place were it could register every time a sxmner goes to a business place to look for work. You people would drop dead. Foolish! And please dont come back at me with qualifications. I see, and I know, and some day the youths will retaliate.

When people refer to others with words like "these people etc." "those people etc", "you people etc" shows a dislike of, or hate towards, or a feeling of superiority over. Close your eyes and open your ears and you will know who is for you or against you.

I don't care if William or any other politician spend HIS OWN MONEY on any amount of plywood. But when they use other peoples money they get through SO CALLED DONATIONS FOR SOMETHING then it's the peoples money and NOT the politicians. So they can ll go to hell with this BS about they can spend their money how they want. Ask them to show you where the money came from and then tell me IT"S THEIR MONEY.
The just change the law to pa*s a casino liscense for Francesco at Atlantis Casino for money so you'll tell me.
The NA and UP are giving out money as if ther's no tomorrow and the people behaving like prostitust for a fix.

the encouraging of tribalism

This campaign is once again seeking to encourage the kind of ugly tribalism that should not be part of any electoral system. This is the result of unqualified low-life characters, would be political leaders preying on the uneducated, marginalized and poor. Empowering and educating your people is always a better way to go.
