DP just want NA to fail. They do not care about the people of St. Maarten! Sarah is still upset she could not make St. Maarten a country. Now out of spitefulness the DP is doing everything they can to make the NA look like they are not fit for the job. Sure that is the DP job maybe but at this crucial time the DP should be thinking about the people of St. Maarten.

I don't understand why DP got so much questions when they were not too long in office. Why they acting like they don't know anything and why they making noise about things they started, messed up and did not complete?

When DP was in charge I could not remember NA making so much noise as they are doing now. When DP was in charge they did not care about the people of St. Maarten..Sarah only cared about getting country St. Maarten.

Students in Holland used to write Sarah begging her for help, telling her how bad things were. She never cared!!! She never responded or showed any interest! She was busy with country St. Maarten and forgot about the people.

She never did anything for the education of the students. And the rest of the DP hardly did anything for the people. Everything they did were only for their self gain. It was and never would be about the people for DP. It is always about their reputation, their self enrichment and never about the people. The people were a merely 15% important to them because they never listen to the people.

And St. Maarten got so much stupid people they vote for family and friends instead of who really deserve to run the country. Thank God not all were stupid or else DP would still be in government!!!!

NA seems to be balancing everything. They are dealing with getting ready for 10/10/10. They are working with the education. They have visited the student to let us know they want us to come back home and work for our country. They are working on housing, employments, and our economy.

Why DP complaining when NA travel abroad? DP always travel abroad for s**t and never for the people. NA travel to visit the students in the U.S. and it was a problem for the DP. N.A. travel to South America to boost our tourism economy and DP got a problem with that. When DP travel no one was suppose to argue about it!

People do not be fooled by the DP. They are trying to manipulate the people of St. Maarten. They like kids trying to prove a point. Instead of working for the people of St. Maarten they are working to make their selves feel better by making the people think NA is not doing a good job when in fact NA is doing a better job then they could ever do!!!

Sorry for the long comment but I am really really tired of the DP and I see how DP let us students down and I will never forgive them for that!!! Especially Sarah who did not care about us! Sarah never give us the time of the day! She never responded to our emails. We got nothing from her. I never even met her or saw her in person. That's a shame!!! I But I have met the people from the N.A. and I feel like they care for us and they are investing in us!

Roy Marlin why are you so worried about the land registry foundation (kadastre), there is no more land there. the DP took it all...remember Roy. NA do not give them no land on Pond Island, not even a square meter.

To address the above;

The NA simply doesn’t want the DP to play its role. The NA feel this is a one man show but every one of the 11 island council members have equal rights.

You said when DP was in charge I could not remember NA making so much noise as they are doing now. When DP was in charge they did not care about the people of St. Maarten...Well, it seems as if you have been suffering from alzheimer and since NA got in gov’t you got back to your senses...seems like you have been the 1st person covered under the Mcschood National Health Care Plan.

The NA has been very critical of the DP since their failed bid to win the EXCO back in 2007. Where have you been? Even the same Theo they have been criticizing and don’t talk about Laviest; they motion no confidence against him then later use him to get their way to the EXCO. Desperate politics…SHAME!!!! Sarah could have let the NA carried the no confidence motion against Laviest, get the sit back and put somebody else in it and Theo would have been there still because he is only concerned about his Commissioner’s sit, he was not willing to take the opposition benches.

We don’t even self know the latest about our Constitutional affairs. When can we know?

The NA balancing everything you said; the budget seems to be not balanced, traveling seems to be more important than answers questions. Questions are not because the DP want answers, the DP is trying to get answers for the people who are concerned. Running the government and dealing with the opposition is part of BALANCING…so you need to stop finding excuses. The affairs of the people are more important than the NA and the DP, its more than any political party or any individual. The people have a right to know regardless of which political party is in power. Just like William would often say while back in opposition: The people have a right to know!!!

The DP too have visited students just like the NA did, so stop talking non sense and get a bit more real about things here. In your eyes it seems like it is all good that the NA is traveling but please be informed that several budget cuts were made, how come none was made in regards to traveling?

It isn’t a year and I am tired of the NA, I don't feel a change of government. Things are operating the same old way. That is the shame!!! If you never met Sarah or never saw her in person it’s because you never wanted to. Sarah has never rejected me in any form or fashion although at times I felt she could have spent more times with us students. The NA is doing what they doing not because they are pa*sionate about doing so but rather they are seeking political mileage. A New beginning is yet to come from the NA and its leadership. Don’t be fooled, election is around the corner and everyone wants to be PRIME MINISTER!!!

Finally, Guess who is truthfully being forgotten? The indigenous St. Maarten people!

Too many people still don't understand what it is all about. It is NOT about "the DP have been doing the same thing for how many years". IT IS ABOUT NA SAYING THEY CAN AND WILL DO BETTER.

And to whoever commented from the Tourist office. Why don't the Brazilian reps come to SXM to check out the product. Why does our tax money have to be spent to have Frans and Labega travel back and forth to Brazil. LOOKS LIKE BRAZIL GETTING ALL OF OUR "TOURIST" MONEY INSTEAD.

And to add all the competence William Marlin have and how he so cares about education...it worries me to see the state of USM affairs under a NA-led government....Empty promises boy, emptay!!!

I am not a NA or DP follower. But lets be real, in all the years the DP party was in government, what have they done for sxm and its people? They made a mess when they were in government, help themselves, friends and family......, now they are screaming from the side line that this government is just traveling and don't know what they are doing.......but if DP party were sooooo better the island would'nt been in a MESS it's in today........!! This all too BLAME ON DP.......!!!!

I'm not in to politics but i'm an avid reader of all of St. Maarten's daily newspapers. I can distinctly remember the same things were done when the government were trying to introduce the carriers such as Jet Blue, Spirit Airlines, and West Jet to St. Maarten.

Why should the Brazilian reps come to SXM? SXM has to sell their product. SXM wants the Brazilians to buy their product not the other way around. Where on earth do you see a sales man sitting and waiting, expecting his customers to come to him? The sales man better go out there and sell his product if he wants to make money.

Please keep in mind more airline carriers means more jobs and revenue for the people of sxm. Also more landing fees for the airport. For every time an aircraft lands on our run strip a landing fee has to be paid.

To the government you should now start working on either getting Virgin Atlantic or British Airways to sxm. We need a carrier direct from England.

I pity sxmer2 soul as well...seems to be bought out completely by the national alliance. The NA and its supporters are so arrogant...another reason they are not representing "change".

Why are you all fighting and trying to kill each other? Both govts have made mistakes, but the truth is that things were bad in DP rule but they were more confident in keepings things running, the NA is running scared, would not ask their own people for help, and helping those that already have plenty. Maybe this is truly the sign of the times, so sorry for those that do not already have. There are alot of things that are not printed on this site or in the newspapers but are taking place. So you people look out for your own families because the politicians are now looking out for themselves and family.

it will be very intresting in the next election to hear what the leader of goverment will tell the people he did for them since taking office.i havent seen nothing yet!!may be the new begining is very hard to begin?all what i am seeing is commishoners seem to be competing with each other to see which one can ride the plane the most,free ticket free hotel free food money in your it does not get better than that!!i want to become a commishoner so i can enjoy this good life also.its about you you dunn know!!!
