The St.Maarten-St.Martin Classic Yacht Club, organizer of the yearly Classic Regatta, announced today that Air France-KLM has signed in as sponsor for the upcoming Classic Regatta in March 2013.The cooperation will allow the regatta organizers, among other advantages, to fly in journalists and camera people from Holland, France, Belgium, Germany and other countries to cover the regatta.
The two airlines will also have yacht crew and visitors on their flights at reduced rates.
The French company Jean Jarreau Media who takes care of the public relations and marketing of the regatta for the classic yacht club, started a while ago already with the promotion of the event at several classic regattas in the Mediterranean and boat shows in Amsterdam, Southampton and other places in Europe, and will continue to do so there and at yachting related gatherings in the USA, the Caribbean and other countries. They will also be present at several tourism fairs, shows and related events world wide.
The aim is to attract tourists and visitors to the Island for a discounted week hotel stay during which they can enjoy three days of classic yachting.
The organization provides space free of costs on a spectator catamaran during the regatta to foreign visitors if they book a week hotel accommodation.
