Nagico is a St.Maarten company who I must say gives back to the community in many ways. Sometimes we take it for granted. Hats off to them. Yes, Nagico may have some politcal might, but atleast they show their cards. And I believe they give to all parties, some more than others, but so does a lot of the other businesses on the island. It;s their money to give. Adding more expertise to the line up will position Nagico as front runner in offering Health insurance when St.Maarten because country. You never know, you may have to turn in your SVB card for a Nagico card. Nevertheless, if the society receives better service, then so be it.
Lot's of things will change with the coming of Country, some good, some questionable, and others will be confusing.

To Unemployed Pro
You sound bitter, which may or may not be why you are presently unemployed. What experience do you have with insurance/Life Insurance to expect to get this job? Did you announce your availability to NAGICO in writing or even verbally?

To "response" I know personally of sxmers who sent/went to Nagico and did not even receive a reply. I personally know of a foreigner who went to Nagico and was placed (looking at papers/filing?) So please dont call sxm people bitter when they comment about the labor market on sxm, some might retaliate and not in such a nice way so be careful. Some of you foreigners are frustrated with the fact that you can never be sxmers in the sense that you were not born here! You can never feel that special love, it is a shame that your kids although born here can not experience this because of the negative feeling you carry for true sxmers. Remember there was a Sxm (peacefull, quiet, and loving, and friendly place)before you arrived and there

response to: Attitude (nagico'g p.r)
rules are:
job must be made availble for residents first.
only if the position can not be filled you will be able to employ a foreigner. bitterness has nothing to do with what nagico did.
that nagico give to the comunity i say "Thank you Nagico" and God Bless you. HOWEVER this does not give you the right to violate the law. So mr Nagicog p.r. Unless your "giving" back to the comunity is done as a lisens to break the law.

it's like giveing me a $ 1.00 and taking my ........ for that one $.

Emigr. dep. well have to look in to this. hopefully nagico didd not buy them yet.

I have no idea of Nagico's employment principles but I suspect they have a higher percentage of SXMers than almost any privately owned company on the island. How do you know they did not make the job available to locals first? You never answered my question about your personal expertise, whether you applied or perhaps had in mind someone who could do the job

To unemployed P. There no PR here for Nagico. They have people employed or the owner himself I'm sure can handle that part. The fact is that Nagico gives to the community. No ascertions were made or implied that Nagico did or did not follow the labour laws. The comment was regarding the company setting up themselves to probably be in a better postion to handle what's to come. That's the bigger picture. And whether Nagico employed foreigners without consulting with the labour office that's another story and should answered by the deparment of labour
I do agree that Nagico employs a whole lot of locals. Just go in and see. These positions should have been advertise, but sadly, just like many companies on the island, they see the ads as a formality. Now that's an issue that should be tackled across the board. Why do you think there are so many workers from india on frontstreet, beause they are all jewerly experts?
Hell no, it's because consecutive governments didn't have the balls to say we won't sign or we won't renew.
I do value your opinion, but engage your mind before your mouth.
