De ernst van de misstand, welke de uitlatingen aan de kaak beogen te stellen;
De mate waarin de beschuldigingen ten tijde van de uitlatingen steun vonden in het toen beschikbare feitenmateriaal;
De inkleding van de beschuldiginen;
De aard van het programma waarin de uitlatingen zijn gedaan en het gedrag van de benadeelde;


Hof:

Y is een zeer bekende persoonlijkheid, hetgeen met zich meebrengt dat hij als zodanig een grotere tolerantie dient op te brengen dan een private persoon ten opzichte van in de media tegenover hem gedane negatieve uitlatingen;

It is extremely shameful reading all of these comments. It seems as though most of the people on here never made it past the sixth grade and it would not surprise me if they had trouble spelling their own names. Some of those coming on here telling others that their grammar is bad, while at the same time having errors in their comments, are just as bad as the rest, if not worse. It is really pitiful seeing how the people of Sint Maarten think. Like someone said, you may think that you are only speaking to other Sint Maarteners and that your grammar and punctuation does not matter, but what happens when an outsider decides to come in and see what is happening on the island and ends up reading this rubbish? Those going around spreading rumors and giving out people's personal information need to get a taste of their own medicine. I wonder how they would feel if someone falsely accused them of being gay (which is not a crime, contrary to what many believe). Saying you are college educated when your writing screams high school educated is also very comical in and of itself, saying that being gay is "opening the door of gayness". That is the most ignorant and disturbing comments on here. It shows that even though you fancy yourself as being "college educated", you have absolutely no knowledge on what you speak on. It seems that it will only get worse before it gets better, which is very sad. What makes you think that because people choose to make a point about education that they can't read the pain, tears and anger? So do you really believe that those who only come on here to make comments about how so and so is gay and how this one is sleeping with that one, are trying to make their pain, tears and anger felt? Or is it just another excuse? We need to stop making excuses for this despicable display of ignorance. Everyone has already experienced a tragedy in their respective lives, and not because they choose write in correct english means that they have not felt what the people close to the deceased are feeling. The least they can do is use correct English when writing about this man who died tragically, instead they choose to come here and spew this hatred and ignorance for which the island has become known. Saying you are a "sxm person" and excusing this, is showing that the mentality that has taken over Sint Maarten will never leave because people choose to forgive "little" things such as bad spelling. Without education nothing can be achieved. Without education, Sint Maarten can not experience the change that is very much needed. And accepting bad grammar shows that education does not matter anymore, which is really a shame. Expressing your tears, pain and anger with correct spelling will more likely help you get your point across in the long run, expressing those same feelings with fourth grade spelling will get you disregarded, which is something the island can not afford.

People here have to learn to understand the law but what do you get when you open your door and let everyone come in and think they are st.maarteners, this is a dutch country and not british and although G.S was suspended he is a civil servant of the federal government when a civil servant commits a crime they must be interogated by the federal detectives B I B I writes but she needs to know the law o expalin that to all those duncees

I am 22 years of age and i am a born st.maartener. i can't believe that this is how our friendly island turned out to be. i left st.maarten last year august and since den it has been nothing but crime, murders and deaths. answer this question for me, you fighting to become a independant country right? GOOD WAY OF SHOWING IT. i've got blood from my eyes and tears from my heart for my good friend christion. a humble guy with a smile as big a his heart. but what hurts is to see that a officer who's job is to surve and protect would d such cruilty to our own. that officer is not even from st.maarten so he won't know the pain some families have when they heard he took their child's life away from him. shame on him but the real issue is that st.maarten witch i love dealry should stand united and not devided. opem your eyes and see that your digging your own grave.

It is sad what this place is coming to. Any cat or dog can become a police, who can we trust the ones that suppose to keep us safe is the ones we can't trust. Only God could guide and protect us. Christian Rest in peace.
