Civil Servant and wife of LU Gym Teacher tested positive for COVID-19.

babrichardson17082020PHILIPSBURG:--- A civil servant working at the Government Administration Building posted on her Facebook page that she tested positive for the virus. The civil servant said in her post that she has always said that if it happened to her she would be as open as the Airport and that the Coronavirus have chosen the wrong warrior.
At the moment, CPS is busy with contact tracing in the government administration building where the civil servant works.
It should be known that the civil servant’s husband is the Physical Education teacher at Learning Unlimited while her children also attend the same school.
Just last week Friday the Court of First Instance ruled in favor of the school remaining open while the Minister of Health Richard Panneflek was sacked by the court for not having the necessary laws in place to close a school.
On Saturday, three Ministers from the governing coalition addressed the people of St. Maarten on the way forward, and no mention was made as to how the island will move forward regarding schools, both public, government-subsidized, and private.
SMN News contacted the Attorney for Learning Unlimited Lucas Berman for a statement on the ongoing developments Berman said that Learning Unlimited has a handbook and that the measures in the handbook will be implemented. He further said he will not comment further on the matter.
