Scooter rider died due to accident on French Quarter Road.

scooterrider09042020French Quarter:--- A high day scooter accident on French Quarter main road (RN 7) left the rider dead on Thursday.
Details on the accident are not immediately available, videos of the victim laying on the road with a large crowd of people are circulating via social media even though there is a lockdown on the island. Information SMN News received states that the rider who is now deceased hit down a pedestrian who is now critical. 
SMN News understands that the victim lives somewhere around the Pond in  French Quarter.
Currently St. Martin/ St. Maarten is on lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Both sides' governments have been calling on parents and youngsters to stay off the public road since there is a lockdown. Scooter riders can be seen on both sides of the island riding their scooters recklessly.
Last week the Prefet Sylvie Feucher called on the scooter riders to stay off the public roads while Minister of Justice Anna Richardson instructed the police on the Southside of the island to begin cracking down on the scooter riders and seize scooters if the riders are not in possession of the documents for the scooter.
