It’s VBS time at Bible Baptist Church.

PHILIPSBURG:--- Summer is here and for Bible Baptist Church, this means one full week of Vacation Bible School (VBS) – one of the many ways the church serves and ministers to children and families in the St. Maarten community.

Themed “Shipwrecked – Rescued by Jesus”, VBS 2019 promises to be a fun-filled week of Bible lessons and exciting activities. And the best part about VBS at Bible Baptist Church is that it is FREE of charge.

VBS has been a highlight on Bible Baptist Church’s calendar for 42 years and counting and the Church remains thankful for the many trained workers and qualified counselors, who volunteer their time each year to minister to the youngsters attending VBS. For Dutch side students, buses are also available to transport the kids back home after VBS each day.

VBS 2019 students will experience the impact Jesus had on the thousands of lives He touched. They will learn how to overcome everyday life situations and will be inspired to not only grow spiritually, but also to use their faith when dealing with situations concerning obedience, harmony, trust and submission to God.

Another enjoyable segment of the annual VBS program is the time spent in creative expression – that’s when students get to express the values they have learned through song, dance, games and mime. Exciting new songs are taught; skilled choreographers teach movements that speak to today’s youth; students get a hands-on opportunity to be creative during craft time; and – because students and food go hand in hand – a tasty snack is served every day.

VBS 2019 takes place this coming week, from Monday, July 15, to Friday, July 19, starting at 9:00am and ending at 1:00pm, at the Bible Baptist Church on Arch Road in Sucker Garden.

Everyone is invited to the closing program on Friday, July 19, at 7:00pm – come and have a fun time as the students recite, sing, dance, and act to showcase what they learned throughout the week.
