PHILIPSBURG:--- On Wednesday, July 3rd suspect with initials D.V., along with his mother and lawyer, turned himself in the Police department in connection with the social media threats that were made against the Sint Maarten Police Force.
A post, allegedly made by the suspect D.V., was posted via social media attempting to recruit members of the community to join him to form a team to take out the Sint Maarten Police Force. The reward for taking part in this team would be to the amount of U.S. $ 70.000,-.
The suspect is currently in police custody pending further investigation. KPSM would like to warn the community that threats against the police force will not be taken lightly. We are here to serve and protect the community and can only continue to do so with the cooperation of the community.
