MARIGOT:--- On Saturday, April 27, 2019, in the early evening, a sharp altercation took place at the intersection of Route Nationale 07 and Pic Paradis Road in Saint-Martin. The latter opposed young Saint-Martiner to Gendarmerie soldiers in an out-of-service position. An off-duty constable was slightly injured in the scalp by stone throwing.
Since then, several videos, extracted from their context and strongly commented on social networks, can leave room for a guided interpretation of the real facts.
It is advisable today to call for appeasement on all sides.
An investigation under the authority of the Basse-Terre prosecutor's office was opened to receive the complaints and to determine the possible criminal responsibilities of the participants in the altercation.
