Security installations progressing at Point Blanche Prison.

chubbswiring25032019PHILIPSBURG:--- Repair works at the Point Blanche Prison is steadily progressing with the security installations presently taking place. Caribbean Engineering & Consultancy Company (CECC), Chubb and Ecotax are assisting the Ministry of Justice with the repair works of the security installations at the Point Blanche Prison.
The Point Blanche Prison was severely destroyed by Hurricanes Irma and Maria in September 2017, which left the facilities with many structural damages, which is currently being repaired along with the security system. Chubb and Ecotax will be working on the following security installations: Fire Alarm System, Intercom System, CCTV (camera observation) System, Access Control System, Active Fencing System, Laser Detection System, and the entire Security Management System to handle all of the mentioned installations/systems.
Minister of Justice, Cornelius De Weever mentioned that he is very pleased with the progress of works being carried out at the facility, “our aim is to bring the Point Blanche Prison back to its Pre-Irma state and beyond with additional/updated changes.”
CECC’s main activities are technical as they are assisting and advising the ministry with the necessary repair works on the security installations; assisting with the project management; executing site inspections, supervision and reporting during the execution, and executing the final hand over inspections and reporting of these inspections.
