EPIC Halloween Kayak Event a Success.

epichalloween29102018PHILIPSBURG:--- Environmental Protection in the Caribbean (EPIC) foundation hosted a successful full moon Halloween-themed kayak tour in the Simpson Bay Lagoon this past Thursday.

It was a spooktacular kayak tour under the moonlight, setting off from Kimsha beach. First, everybody paddled out in the darkness to the boat graveyard where they listened quietly for eerie sounds and then shared their scariest stories next to the causeway bridge. All enjoyed ice-cold drinks as the full moon appeared from behind dark clouds and shivered listening to the chilling stories. After story-time, everyone made their way back to the beach where the winners for scariest costume and most terrifying story were announced with prizes of pizza from Buccaneer Beach Bar.

EPIC would like to extend much gratitude to Tri-Sport, CC1 and Buccaneer Beach Bar for their help with gear, drinks, and prizes. It would not have been such a success without all involved. The foundation would also like to thank all of the helpers and guides that assisted with keeping the participants safe and appreciates all the participants for coming out and supporting EPIC. All funds raised from the event will go directly into conservation and educational projects, helping St. Maarten to become a cleaner and more sustainable island.
