Police Department warns community on fraudulent organizations.

PHILIPSBURG:--- The Detective Department of Police Force of Sint Maarten recently received information that an organization called “National Endowment for the Humanities” has been busy contacting regular citizens and businesses in the community via Messenger and other Social Media Platforms, to take part in a cash grant program for those who need assistance in paying bills, buying homes, starting their own business, going to school, helping raise their children etcetera. This program requires you to send or deposit a cash amount U.S. $ 3000, - to a “Grant program” to obtain an official slot. This money will “so to say” be used for the rebuilding of the country. After have deposited your money you will in turn receive a cash amount of U.S. $ 150.000, - for taking part in the program.
Those persons representing or operating this organization are also using the names and false identification of local government officials to convince you to take part in this program. The community is hereby warned that this program is totally bogus and is nothing more than a way to scam you out of your hard earned money.
Anyone receiving this type of message or mail from via any social media platform from any organization should not participate in any way.
