NIA's Constitution Day Concert "Music brings people together.

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF ARTS - NIA, honors Constitution Day, October 8, 2018, with a Classical Concert by pianist Irina Kaufman-Brookes and her student prodigy Fang Fei Cai. This, NIA’s fourth Festival of Culture and Arts (NIACA), comes together as a  Fundraiser under the heading “Music brings people together”. The evening will not only be celebrating Classical music but the audience will also be enjoying Sweet S’Maatin Tunes with the Community Choir, “the rest we save as a surprise!” says Director Arlene Halley.

NIA’s Black Box Theatre at the John Larmonie Center is an intimate acoustic setting, seats are limited. The Concert starts at 7 p.m. sharp! Donation is $15 in

advance and $20 at the door. Irina Kaufman-Brookes (piano, Russia/UK) Graduated from the State Russian Musical Academy named by Gnesins (PHD). Her Awards include II prize and silver medal on the II International Piano Competition in Andorra; award of Recognition for the contribution of the young musician's development (American Protégé, New York). She has performed numerous recitals in Russia, USA, France, Austria, Hungary, Belize, Caribbean islands, Andorra, Costa-Rica, Spain as a soloist, soloist with orchestra, as a member of the different chamber ensembles. Many times was invited as an artist in festivals all over the world (Slavic music festival in Paris, Piano Festival in San-Jose, Belize classical music festival & etc.). In 2012 Irina participated in the honorable recital dedicated to Golden Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Chairwoman of American Protégé Concerto competition (New York), jury member of the several international piano competitions. She has CD recordings with music of W, Mozart, F. List, F Chopin, I, Brahms, S. Prokofiev, C. Saint-Saens, V. Horowitz, E. Wild, E. Grieg, G. Gershwin and more. Her students are prize-winners of the different piano competitions, one such student is Fang Fei Cai, only 13 years old!. Fang Fei was born in Saint-Martin where at the age of 4 she started to play piano. .Fang Fei is II Prize winner of Grand Piano Virtuozi Piano Competition in Vienna (2017) and I Prize winner of the American Fine Art Festival in New York (2017). From the age of 8 Fang Fei appears as a pianist-soloist in different concert halls. In May 2018 her debut in Carnegie Hall , New York, took place. Fang Fei will be delighting the audience with the following selections: I.S.Bach Prelude and Fuge in B flat Major from Well-Tempered Chlavier (I volume). F.Chopin.Etude n5 opus 10 Mrs. Irina Kaufman-Brookes will enchant us with this program: J.Rameau.Gavotte e 6 doubles.
