Academy mid-term report evening set for Thursday.

EBENEZER:---The Management of St. Maarten Academy’s academic campus would like to announce that there will be a mid-term meeting for parents of students in Forms 1 - 6 (CAPE) on Thursday, February 15, 2018, from 6:30 pm.

This meeting is mandatory for parents of students who are performing below standard. All other parents can choose to take the opportunity to meet with the various subjects teachers if they so wish.

Parents are being urged to have a discussion that evening with the homeroom teacher first, then connect with the teachers of the subjects their children are failing. This is a critical time to assess the academic standing of students to ascertain what measures need to be put in place for struggling students.

"Now, more than ever, we need to be more vigilant to ascertain how the hurricane affected our students, and try to intervene early and find ways of helping those who are struggling, or those who missed a great portion of their lessons because they had evacuated. But we cannot do this alone. Parents must be involved and do what they can at home. It is so important for all of us to work together," principal, drs. Tallulah Baly-Vanterpool stated.

Letters were sent out to this effect and parents who do not show up for this meeting will be called into the school subsequently.

Parents are reminded that the meeting will take place at the school's PSVE campus in Ebenezer.

Kindly be reminded that there will be no school on Monday and Tuesday, February 12 and 13, 2018, due to our Midterm Break. All students are expected back in school on Wednesday, February 14, 2018.
