PHILIPSBURG:--- On Friday, November 17, 2017, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport in collaboration with Mr. Fred York and Friends (Musicologie), will be organizing the Finale Hurricane Heroes Social. The Hurricane Heroes series are social events aimed at honoring and thanking our hurricane heroes within the community, after the passing of Hurricane Irma. During the previous Hurricane Heroes Social, Laser 101 and NV GEBE were honored. The events featured a line up consisting of musical legends, who for the love of St. Martin and her people, gave spectacular performances.
For the finale, we will be honoring several heroes which are; TELEM (TelCell), VROMI, Korps Politie Sint Maarten, VKS, Fire Department, Ambulance Department and Management of Cake House Bakery, who played a vital role in the days after the passing of monster Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria. The general public and the media are invited to join in on the fun, as we continue to honor and build back better and build back stronger for a brighter St. Martin.
