PHILIPSBURG:--- The Special Unit Robbery is presently investigating an armed robbery which took place on Tuesday morning August 29th at approximately 07.10 a.m. at the Star Mart on the Welfare road in Cole Bay.
This is when two unknown men, dressed completely in dark/black clothing with their face covered arrived at the gas station on a scooter (skeleton). Both men were in possession of a firearm. They stormed into the building and while threatening the cashier stole an undisclosed amount of cash. After committing this act both men got back onto the scooter and fled the scene heading in the direction of Kruythoff round about.
The police are asking anyone who has information in connection with this robbery to immediately get in contact with the police department by calling 54-22222 ext. 2134/214, calling the anonymous tip line #9300 or the emergency phone line 911.
