The Apostle” Won International Gospel Award.

jacksonville11072017MARIGOT:--- Local gospel artist Andre "The Apostle" Webster won the award for International Gospel Artist of the Year at the 9th Annual Rhythm of Gospel Awards held in Jacksonville, FL.

Webster who is a musician, pastor and an Apostle of tGospelpel was nominated in four categories at the gospel awards for: Alternative Christian Gospel CD of the Year, Rhythm and Praise CD of the Year, Urban Contemporary Male Vocalist, and International Gospel Artist of the Year.

In addition to his nominations, Webster performed at several events, including the main award show, which officially kicked off on June 21st and ended on June 25th. He stunned the audience with his outstanding performances while performing some of his hits songs such as “Daddy’s Shirt”; “Thank Him in everything”; and “Oh They Frown”.

“Everything went just right. As a matter of fact, we were well received at the gospel awards and my performances went very well. The audience responded positively; I’ve seen people get up out of their seats and began to dance and move around,” said an overjoyed Webster, who traveled to the awards with Pastor Esmond Flemming and Mario Gumbs. “People told me that my performances were unique, and that I have what it takes, but I give God the glory” Webster continued.

Flemming applauded “The Apostle” saying, “He received a standing ovation from the audience in Jacksonville,” adding, “the people cheered him on and all his performances were highly energized which brought the crowd to their feet shouting his name. He was top-notch at the main award show and all of his performances were simply spectacular.” concluded Flemming.

“Winning the only international category at the award event was a big win not only for the artist, but also for St. Martin/St. Maarten,” said Gumbs. “Our local artist has made all of us proud from the nominations, to the performances, to the red carpet and the award received. A job well done!” concluded Gumbs.

Webster and his support team highlighted the role the media played in his quest to win at the gospel awards. “We genuinely appreciate and thank all the media for the tremendous work they did in pushing the nomination,” said the team. “I especially want to thank SOS radio 95.9 and Jacques ‘BillyD’ Hamlet for the huge role played; and I would also like to thank all of my supporters, and everyone who voted for me locally, regionally and internationally. I thank the Collectivité de Saint-Martin, Zamar Musical Productions, the local pastors and churches, my support team and the Kingdom Day team, especially the members at Love and Grace Fellowship church.” concluded Webster.
