Report always in person, Not anymore by mail of letter.

PHILIPSBURG:--- Anyone may report a criminal offense. The basic principle is that the person reporting the incident to the police (or the National Detective Agency in cases where the National Detective Agency is in charge of the investigation) should be present for the investigating officer to ask further details on the report or ask questions regarding other circumstances that may assist the investigation. Depositing a report by letter to one of the offices of the Public Prosecutor in CuraƧao, St. Maarten and the BES islands, sending an email, a text message or a WhatsApp message to an employee of the police or justice will no longer be considered as such.
