PHILIPSBURG:---- Security Guards working for Checkmate Security at the Prison and the Harbor Group of Companies and other locations are working without radio communication since January 16th, 2016.
According to information SMN News obtained the owner of Checkmate Security refused to pay the bill he owed to Zenitel which amounts to Naf.45.000.00. SMN News understands that Checkmate did not pay their bills for at least 4 months and despite efforts by Zenitel to collect their monies before taking drastic measures they were not able to reach an agreement.
Checkmate Security are in possession of 115 radios, but today not one of the security guards can communicate with the Central or their colleagues.
Efforts made to reach management of Zenitel and Checkmate Security on Monday proved futile.
