PHILIPSBURG:--- On Wednesday, January 18th organizers and stakeholders involved with the upcoming Heineken Regatta 2017 held their first meeting with representatives of the police department. Heineken Regatta begins on Wednesday, March 1st and will end on Monday, March 6th. The French side will again be involved in this yearly event which has steadily continued to grow. During this meeting issues such as a new layout plan of the main venue which will be located at Kim Sha Beach and safety and security were definitely the main topics among several others that were discussed. Represented at this meeting were members of the organizing committee, French Sea Rescue, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Department, VROMI and a representative from a private security company. Subsequent meetings will be held to make sure that everything is in place to have a safe and successful event.
