PHILIPSBURG:--- In support of the Feed the Less Fortunate initiative carried out by the Rotaract Club of St. Maarten Sunrise, Miss Mature Norrisa Anatol presented two large hampers filled with food and toiletry items to the club on December 23rd, 2016. Every Boxing Day, December 26th, the Rotaract Sunrise members boards a bus and drive through the different districts on the island distributing hot meals and drinks to those in need. To add substance to this outreach, two lucky families will be chosen to receive a food hamper donated by Anatol. “Being a founding member of Rotaract Sunrise and the Feed the Less Fortunate project some 7 years ago, it gives me great pleasure to support the club in this much needed initiative and bless two families,” Anatol stated.
Present to receive the food hampers were Rotaract Sunrise International Service Director Lerissa Rey and member Shadika Brooks. “On behalf of Rotaract Club of St. Maarten Sunrise members, thank you for your continuous generosity and support to the club’s projects. We will ensure that the food hampers are handed over to families who we believe will benefit from it,” Rey stated. Some of items in the hampers include sugar, sweets, peanut butter, milk, cornflakes, flour, sausage, macaroni, rice, bathing soap, toothpaste and Ponche Kuba. “I encourage you the public to do your part in spreading some cheer this season so that everyone can have a delightful Christmas,” Anatol concluded.
