GREAT BAY (DCOMM):--- On Saturday, Minister of Education, Culture, Youth Affairs and Sports Hon. Silveria Jacobs, attended the Seventh day Adventist Church Teachers Appreciation Day Service.
The theme for the service was "Victory in Jesus through Time like These". Also attending the service, incoming Secretary General UNESCO Marcellia Henry.
Minister Jacobs addressed the congregation and commended the Seventh-day Adventist church for their organization of the service commemorating teachers.
The Minister thanked the teachers for their unwavering service and dedication to Education on St. Maarten. The countless hours, sweat and tears of teachers signified to the Minister that their work is important and crucial in inspiring education with respect to Country St. Maarten's future.
The Minister spoke of the importance of inspiring a next generation of teachers.
During the service several speakers addressed the congregation, congratulating and encouraging teachers. A presentation of tokens to all teachers and administrators took place during the special service.
