peaceday30092016PHILIPSBURG:--- The Rotary Club of Sint Maarten, along with the Learning Unlimited (LU) Interact and Earlyact, and the MPC Interact Clubs, worked together to celebrate and observe International Peace Day on September 21, 2016. At LU both the Interact and Earlyact dressed in white shirts representing peace and formed a giant human peace sign, to observe International Peace Day and to send a message of peace to all. While the Interact club and students of MPC wore a white ribbon around their wrist as sign of peace. Both LU and MPC gathered outside their respective schools with tools in hand to plant a tree, symbolizing that together the youth could make the world a better place. Mr. Adante Pitter, President of MPC Interact Club shared in a presentation with his peers the importance of spreading peace to all. The United Nations International Day of Peace, held annually on September 21st, provides an opportunity for all humanity to come together, in spirit and in action to forward the ideals of peace throughout the world. This day is observed by hundreds of millions of people worldwide.
