307 volunteers turned out for International Coastal Cleanup on Sunday.

2016intcoastalcleanup180920PHILIPSBURG:--- On Sunday, September 18th some 307 persons assisted in the local leg of the International Coastal Cleanup which took place at Nettle Bay Saint Martin.
Among the volunteers that participated, school students from the St. Dominic High and the Learning Unlimited school were part of the team.
Volunteers combed the beach and the surrounding brush, collecting 89 trash bags totaling 1184 pounds.
This year Pride foundation was happy to see more parents participating with their children. Along with the school students, several service clubs like Rotaract Sunrise and Rotaract club SXM, employees from KOOYMAN, as well as employee volunteers from FEDEX, the Filipino community, Fruits de Mer, K1 Brittania, and the Sint Maarten Pathfinders club. Also in attendance was the Dutch representative In Philipsburg, Chris Johnson who volunteered with his family.
