It is no secret that the brother of the current acting police chief is running the brothel Sunset Retreat (former Border Bar) under the guise of his wife. This is possible the reason why you cannot get a patrol in Simpsonbay when you need one. He is probably too tired running the brothel to leave his office. It is also ridiculous that the prostitutes of these clubs can have their papers regulated almost instantly when other applicants have theirs pending for month or years, having to run behind the govt. to have them processed. I guess if you are a whore on SXM, your papers are processed faster. You also make more money than the average worker. So I guess Mr. Doran and his brother do not have anything to worry about. They are two pimps living a lucrative lifestyle. So why should they care about what happen to their colleagues?

I am worried at the low level of writing by some of the commentators. Wow, If this is what our education system produced, we are doomed for the future.
One commentator wrote about the brother of Doran managing or owning a brothel, this is something serious. And if anyone thinks this is something we should not take serious, then again we in for a big bang if we think we are going any kind of country status.
May I remind everyone, that politicians and chief of police are put under a radar and there is a reason for this. There should be no conflict of interest not even a semblance of such and we the people should question what is the role of our chief of police in helping his brother obtain permits for so called exotic dancers but in reality are prostitutes.

I second the opinion of OMG. It is sad, we're dead bound on dragging this island and its people to the ground. Not on lack of leadership but who's upholding the integrity and respect of the Police Force? Who's watching them to ensure they are carrying out their duties according to the laws of the land? How can we ask our young people to join when there's corruption within? It is time we take this situation seriously and demand more investigation into these allegations.

i wondering if i am a cop and i come here to live and married a local who familie has land and hotel and they deced after to give my wife the hotel to run. what should i do devorce my wife because i m a cop and because she have to run her hotel. why is it always we have to think bad of some one first. if those 11 cops really go who is going to sufer not you all. we have to learn to mind our own problems before we take on others.

What about former cop Toochi Meyers? isn't he the owner of 2 others? What about Loor and Holiday? Busted for falsifying entry docs! And accusations about Marsdin? Falsifying papers for strippers. it's one big "honey-pot" that feeds high ranking police officers.

I totally agree with OMG and Local Girl! They reflect my feelings. Those who have chosen to protect us should be beyond any resemblance of corruption. Nobody was forced to become a police officer, it was a free choice. So they should know better and therefore do better.
Personally I don't care if the Curaçao police officers want to go back. In general they don't care about SXM one bit. But we do need to replace them with good local officers and that seems to be a challenge.
In general the image of the police needs to be improved, otherwise no one wants to join the ranks. Nafl. 300.000,- put in the recruitment campaign is a waste of money at this point in time. I for one am not willing to join the ranks until the whole police station is cleaned up!

Now you are pointing your fingers at local officers that always give their utmost without getting equal treatment as the Dutch from Holland. Get your facts straight and compair them to the what the local officers get. Get out of that slave mentallity, stand up for your own. I do agree with Hotel California, Hotel and brothels are two different things.

The image of an officer running or is part of the dealing in a brothel is very immoral. There is a great lack of value on the island. We weren't like that a few years back and all of this is causing disorder.

There is too much of corruption going on in SXM. We can't move on in the right direction like that.

Former police officer that use to run helicopter operation on sxm and good buddy's with casino owners put their side spanisch lady to work with out papers.Now i can't not get a job in that same casino because i will need a poce record.Gues what ? this girl was lock up for credit card fraud and stealing at Robby's lottery.In jail this policemen met this lady.
