MPC student injured in fight --- Police Investigating.(UPDATED)

PHILIPSBURG:--- A fight broke out at MPC just after school on Tuesday leaving one student injured. Police Spokesman Ricardo Henson confirmed that a fight took place between two students. He said one of the students was hit in the head and suffered a head injury. Henson said he did not have the details on the case but promised to release more information later today.

The Police Juvenile Department is presently investigating a fight which broke between students in the vicinity of the Milton Peters College. The incident took place on Tuesday, September 6th at approximately 02.30 p.m. This is when the Emergency Dispatch received a call that a serious fight among youngsters was going on in the vicinity of the Milton Peters College and that one of the students was injured and bleeding. Immediately several police patrols were sent to the scene to investigate what had taken place.
On the scene, the investigating officers learnt that the fight started when a group of youngsters attacked two other students. During the attack, one victim was struck in his head with a hard object which caused a serious open wound. The victim was immediately transported to the medical center where he was treated for his wound.
The reason for this attack and who the attackers were is still unknown and is being investigated. The family members of the victims were informed of the incident and have filed an official complaint with the Juvenile Department.
When more details regarding this investigation become available the media will be informed.
