Marigot:---The Saint Martin Evolution Toastmasters elected its 2016-2017 Executive Board on 10 May, 2016. The Executive Board consists of President, TM Shirma France; Vice President Education, TM Claudia January; Vice President Membership, TM Marlene Toma; Vice President Public Relations, TM Sophia Carti; Treasurer, TM Joseph Levi; Secretary, TM Glennicia Rogers, and Sergeant at Arms TM Valerie Vaiti.
Toastmasters provide a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to overcome their fear of public speaking and sharpen presentation skills,” says TM Carti, Vice President Public Relations. “Other benefits include the opportunity to increase one’s confidence, build critical thinking skills and become an effective listener,” says TM Carti.
A combined installation ceremony for the Executive Boards for 2016-2017 for all six Clubs on the Island took place on Saturday, June 25th 2016. In her incoming speech, TM Shirma vowed to work with the Executives and members to strive for excellence in the development and growth of the Club while taking it to President Distinguish for 2016-2017. She said that we all have to work together to develop strong communicators and dynamic leaders of tomorrow.
Chartered with 20 members in 2010, the Saint Martin Evolution Toastmasters is a bilingual Club and is located in Marigot, St Martin, and meets every first and second Tuesday of the month at 7:30p.m. at the former Evelina Halley School in Marigot.
