PHILIPSBURG: --- Pending the outcome of the investigation against the Director of IND and Acting Secretary General Udo Aron, the Minister of Justice Edison Kirindongo has appointed former Acting Chief Commissioner of Police who was also the Acting Secretary General for the Ministry of Justice Richard Panneflec as the Acting Director of IND for the Ministry of Justice. In an invited comment the Minister of Justice said that Panneflec has been unofficially appointed to that position.
As for Udo Aron who was suspended some three weeks ago and is forbidden to enter any of the departments of justice within the Justice Ministry still did not turn in the government vehicle he was given while being Director of IND, Aron also still has the government telephone he was given while on active duty.
Asked about that, the Minister said that he is following all procedures as laid down by law. The suspension is the first step and the when the time comes for more actions to be taken it will be done in the second step after he gets more feedback from the Landsrecherche.
