Scotia robbery and bomb threat suspect stays in pretrial detention.

PHILIPSBURG:--- Prosecutor's Office bulletin:G.J.F. (34), suspected of committing robbery and staging a false bomb threat at Scotiabank on February 5, appealed the decision of the judge of instruction on April 11 to keep him in custody for another 60 days. The Joint Court of Justice did not agree with G.J.F.’s lawyer request that his custody should be suspended and decided on April 22 that the suspect should remain in prolonged custody. G.J.F. is suspected of extorting an employee of the Scotiabank on February 5 and thereby managed to steal NAf 9,220 and USD 8,730 in cash. He is also suspected of staging a false bomb threat in the Scotiabank that day. The suspect was sent back to the immigration in St. Maarten by the immigration of the BVI on march 18. He was immediately arrested because there was an arrest warrant out for him.
